Sweet Pete’s

Sweet Pete’s is the largest candy store in the southeast. Located in an historic 22,000 square foot mansion in the heart of downtown Jacksonville, Sweet Pete’s not only offers thousands of varieties of candy and hand crafted chocolates, but we bring guests into the candy making experience. Each day, Sweet Pete’s hosts candy classes, parties and field trips where candy lovers from all over learn about candy. Families and friends come to Sweet Pete’s to taste great candy and share a unique experience.
Sweet Pete’s produces and offers a near endless variety of candy. In addition to their famous sea salt caramels, cherry cordials, toffee, and rocky road, they provide gluten free, vegan, retro candy as well. Sweet Pete has been a candy maker for over 30 years and is passionate about candy. All candy is produced or selected by Sweet Pete himself.

Jacksonville Arboretum & Gardens

The Jacksonville Arboretum & Gardens is a 120-acre urban woodland full of trails for you to explore and enjoy.

From the trailhead next to the parking lot, a stabilized walkway encircles a beautiful two-acre lake. This trail gently descends about 25 feet to the foot of the lake and then returns up a gentle slope on the opposite side to the trailhead. Interpretive signs and over 100 labeled plants enhance the loop.

In addition, over three miles of rustic hiking trails wind quietly through a series of distinct ecological habitats. Along the trails, benches invite you either to pause and enjoy the view or to get in a good stretch during a vigorous walk.

Conners A-Maize-ing Acres

Conner’s A-Maize-Ing Acres opened October 18, 2003.  The Conner’s inaugural season was a huge success, helping approximately 12,000 people “Get Lost” while being dedicated to providing a place where families, can come together and enjoy good clean fun.  Conner’s A-Maize-Ing Acres was host to over 6,000 school children on field trips their first year.  The teachers and students gave the Conner’s high marks on education, organization and a whole lot of good carefree fun.  The Conner’s strive to educate the public on the importance of agriculture and the American farmer. 

Riverside Arts Market

Produced by Riverside Avondale Preservation, Inc., the Riverside Arts Market is every Saturday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., rain or shine. RAM features a variety of small businesses, everything from artists to farmers to makers and bakers.
